The City of Fort Morgan, (1865) boasts a population of around 11,000 residents. Home of the county seat, Fort Morgan is a great place to call home. All utilities are municipally owned and operated in Fort Morgan providing convenience to homeowners. There are several elementary schools throughout the neighborhoods and there is also a middle school, high school and a large community college.
There are many amenities offered including several parks, a community swimming pool, a library/museum complex, a golf course, a theatre with four cinemas and a municipal airport. There are many large employers, some of which include Cargill meat packing plant, Leprino cheese factory, Dairy Farmers of America milk processing facility, Western Sugar and Erker Grain; one of the largest processors of sunflower seeds in the world. There are annual golf tournaments held throughout the year, music concerts and swing fests, several relays and walks to participate in, a fall car show and the traditional Christmas Parade. Fort Morgan has many places to shop and is only 80 miles northeast of Denver if you want to get out of town for the day.
